The problem
Allergic rhinitis rarely announces itself as an illness. It shows up as a morning that starts with six sneezes, a nose that blocks the moment the season turns, eyes that water in a dusty room. Most people stop calling it a condition and start calling it normal.
The usual answer is an antihistamine. It works for a few hours, and you take another tomorrow. It manages the symptom while leaving the response that produced it untouched, which is why the tablet becomes a daily habit rather than a course of treatment.
Symptoms measured in the trial
Why it persists
An allergic response begins with IgE, an antibody the immune system makes against something harmless. Dust, pollen, a change in the weather. Once IgE is bound to mast cells in the nasal lining, the next exposure ruptures them, releasing histamine and the familiar cascade of symptoms.
Antihistamines block the receptor histamine acts on. They don't lower IgE, and they don't change how readily the mast cells release it. IMMBO was formulated to work further upstream, and that is what the trial set out to measure.
From the shala
Made at our own facility in Uttarakhand, under Mfg. Lic. No. UK.AY-556/2024, by the family that has run Bharat Bhaishajya Shala since 1945.
The immune system produces IgE against an ordinary substance and attaches it to mast cells in the nasal lining.
On the next exposure those mast cells rupture, releasing histamine and inflammatory mediators.
Blood vessels dilate, mucus production rises, nerve endings fire. The result is sneezing, congestion, itching and watering.
The formulation
18 Ayurvedic herbs + Mandoor Bhasma
IMMBO derives from Punarnava Mandoor, a classical formulation, refined over three decades of clinical use. The mineral component is Mandoor Bhasma: iron oxide put through classical Shodhana and Marana purification before it enters the formula.

The evidence
In 2023 an open-label randomised controlled trial of IMMBO in allergic rhinitis was published in Cureus and indexed on PubMed Central. It compared IMMBO against a conventional combination of levocetirizine and montelukast over 28 days.
Total Nasal Symptom Score reduction
Complete symptom resolution
IgE reduction
Design 250 patients screened, 224 enrolled and randomised 1:1. IMMBO group n=114 at 60 mg/kg/day in three divided doses; comparison group n=110 on levocetirizine 2.5 mg plus montelukast 4 mg once daily. Assessed at baseline, day 14 and day 28.
No serious adverse events were reported in either group. The authors describe the trial as establishing prima facie evidence, and note it requires further scientific development to confirm long-term benefit.
